New Year House Cleaning Tricks
A very happy new year to you and to your loved ones
Sometimes it is quite easy to make resolutions but way hard to follow a certain path in order to achieve them. We are not suggesting, you can look at yourself. It’s better if you rather make your goal more specific which means more attainable. It is very important for anyone to do deep house cleaning once a year and the new year means a new beginning and it is the best opportunity to get the house cleaned. You need to ask yourself a question that what are the problem rooms that currently annoy you? If it’s just the kitchen/dining room/family room complex, revise your resolution with this smaller focus in mind.
Next, set benchmarks for yourself throughout the year. Maybe the first of every month is a day to check in on your progress, or you commit to a deep clean one room every Sunday. Finally, devise a plan for how to deal with setbacks and impediments. If your junk mail keeps piling up, how will you switch tacks to combat the never-ending wave?
House Cleaning Tricks
When You Walk in the Door …
Put everything that comes into your house away immediately. (And, yes, the recycling bin is a viable option for that junk mail.) Keep your on-the-go items—coat, bag, keys, et cetera—in one place. And if you have a second story, always take something that needs to go up every time you walk upstairs.
Your Bedroom, From Morning Till Night
Make your bed every day. No matter what. Do it as soon as you get up, and feel free to ditch your top sheet if that makes life easier. When you get home, immediately hang up items that will be reworn. And keep your closet decluttered. The best way to do this? Give pieces away frequently!
The Dreaded Kitchen
There’s a difference between having a neat house—i.e., everything is straightened—and having a clean house—as in, there aren’t gobs of sticky, anonymous food lingering from days ago. The kitchen, rivalled only by the bathroom, is ground zero for cleanliness. So how best to combat the situation? Make a habit of cleaning as much as possible while you cook, and always do all the dishes after each meal. Clean out (and dry!) your sink at the end of every day. If you have a dishwasher, run it at night and unload the clean dishes before it is time to pop in the next morning’s cereal bowls.
If You Have Kids
Whirling dervishes that they are, kids have a way of leaving a mess in their wake. If your children are little and toys are the issue, make individual stations for playtime. Group toys by type so that not every single item is out at once. Keep each group in a bin or basket, preferably with a lid, so that things look tidy and you have an easy cleanup.
For school-age kids, set a regimen for packing backpacks the night before. And above all else, don’t let your dining room table become a dumping ground for every member of the family’s personal possessions. If this is a huge problem, consider this compromise with yourself: Make a fully set table the de facto model. It will look orderly, even if the occasional dusting is required. Even if you have kids it’s not very hard to do house cleaning when you have a team like us at cheap bond cleaning Brisbane.
General Words of Wisdom
If you take something out, put it away. That should be your mantra, and the same goes for opening and closing cabinets and drawers. Additionally, don’t underestimate the importance of speed. A quick power clean always helps things look better, and no one likes to waste time wallowing over the dishes.
The Daily Method
Okay, so you know what needs to be done, but how best to go about it? Consider cleaning for 10 to 20 minutes every day. This doesn’t mean you should attempt to tidy your entire home in each stretch but accomplish at least one task each time. Maybe it’s putting away stray objects, cleaning the bathroom’s surfaces, or Swiffering the floors. Either way, it beats an epic, all-day Sunday marathon.
